Beginners

Come and dance with us!” is the title/motive for the level of the beginners. Focus is given on the encouragement of the student to overcome the first technical difficulties of movement or expression. The dances are easy and take  place during the whole social life of the greek people, such as festivities and celebrations.

Intermediate

“Dance gives life” is the title/continuity of this level. During this stage, the lesson is focused on the revision of the former knowledge and the broadening of it so that the participants will practise their skills. The movement is more vivid , the melodies are more clear and through the variety of the rythm the participants entertain themselves and acquire a feeling of creativity. The traditional greek dancing is not only about steps, but it also becomes an integral part of their life.

Advanced

” The circle of life” is the title/aim of the advanced level. The participants focus on the good learning of particular dances and on their coordination and scenic presence. The greek dances are an authentic way of expression of tradition. The essence of the dances is the rerpresentation of family life and religious customs, the attribution of honor to mother-nature and the high praise of courage. At this stage, significance is given to greek folk dances as a way of expression of oral folklore.
